– Life cycle stages and emission scopes (1, 2, 3)
– Organizational vs. operational boundaries
2. Collect and structure GHG data
– Activity data types: fuel use, energy consumption, business travel, logistics
– Data quality assessment and management
3. Calculate CO₂e emissions
– Use standard emission factors (IPCC, DEFRA, EPA)
– Apply formulas for both direct and indirect emissions
4. Develop a compliant GHG Inventory
– Format inventory for ISO 14064 and GHG Protocol requirements
– Organize supporting documentation and traceability
5. Plan for verification and assurance
– Understand ISO 14064-3 requirements
– Prepare for third-party review or CDP disclosure
